Rain falling from a monsoon thunderstorm is backlit by the setting sun, causing the sky to appear on fire as lightning erupts from the storm and strikes the Grand Canyon. I created this image by layering six images shot back-to-back (using a technique similar to creating star-trail photos) to show the intensity of this storm. 8x10 inch print matted to 11x14 inches.
